FOR NEW STARTERS
Get the support you need to make the next step in your career
Being able to afford to take up media internships is not possible for everyone. The main reason is the high cost of safe accommodation. That’s where we come in.

WE FEEL YOUR PAIN
Your media organisation is funding your stay
Well, well, well…now you’re only a few steps away from your first award-winning stories…
No funding? No problem.
At PressPad, our aim is to lower the barriers of entry to media careers that shut out so many diverse voices. Many media organisations offer low-paid (and wrongly, unpaid) internships or work experience opportunities and don’t consider the financial burden of commuting, relocating, and finding a place to stay.
That’s why, if your stay isn’t funded by your work placement provider, we will support you to find alternative funding elsewhere: be it from media diversity schemes, bursaries, universities, or even PressPad’s own charitable foundation. We can point you in the right direction, coach you on how to write a strong application and give feedback on any application you make to funding providers.
I need your help finding an internship
We don’t really do that (sadly we’re brilliant but even we can’t tell newsrooms who they hire!), but what we can do is give you the confidence, training and tips to find and secure the right internship for you. Here are some ways we can help.
